Vinnie De Marco, Building on ACA: Vincent DeMarco is a longtime advocate for public health causes including reducing teen smoking, underage drinking and gun violence, expanding health care access and making prescription drugs more affordable. He is the subject of a book by former FTC Chair and Advocacy Institute co-founder Michael Pertschuk entitled “The DeMarco Factor: Transforming Public Will Into Political Power.”
Dr. Rita Livadas: Dr. Rita Livadas is a pharmacist with policy expertise in health system delivery form, reimbursement, as well as drug and device approval and supply chain issues. Dr. Livadas has over 10 years of experience in nonprofit and government sectors, where she has focused on reforms to lower health care costs while improving quality and outcomes.
Stephanie Kang: Is a third-year Doctor of Public Health candidate at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and a Health Policy Fellow in Congresswoman Jayapal’s office and the Congressional Progressive Caucus Center.
Stan Dorn: As a Senior Fellow at Families USA, Stan Dorn plays a leading role in a broad range of projects, with a special focus on coverage innovations and federal strategies to lower prescription drug prices and improve drug development.

WASHINGTON, DC - The DMV Grassroots Coordinating Committee, sponsored by the Woman’s National Democratic Club and RISE District (formerly Pantsuit District), are hosting a “Blue Wave” Grassroots Social & Action Fair on August 8th to help progressives who live “inside the beltway” fight Trumpism where it counts to build a "Blue Wave" in 2018 and beyond. Over 100 Activists have signed up to get connected with DNC and Campaign Leaders as well as community groups like local Democratic Party and Swing Left chapters as well as original programs like Congressman Jamie Raskin’s “Democracy Summer” Student Fellowship Program.

Speakers, Organizers and Attendees are available to discuss how their work can help build a “Blue Wave” in November and become a model for the future of the Democratic Party’s fight to stop Trumpism in 2020 and beyond. The Action Fair will include a large projector that will include event and partner logos as well as over 20 tables for organizations at the scenic WeWork event location just footsteps from the home of the President of the United States.
The GCC’s National Messaging & Policy Task Force also recently submitted six resolutions that were successfully passed at the March DNC Meeting in DC.

Founded in 2017 after the Women’s March, the Grassroots Coordinating Committee serves a coalition of grassroots communities in the DC/MD/VA to connect with the DNC and Democratic party organizations, campaigns, and other progressive causes. The GCC is affiliated with the Woman's National Democratic Club.
GCC Co-Sponsor RISE District seeks to build a strategic movement of politically engaged communities that demand a responsible and accountable government which serves the interests of the people. Forum for Candidates for DC Democratic National Committee Woman and Man
This FREE forum, moderated by DC Democratic National Committeewoman and WNDC member MaryEva Candon, features the candidates for DC Democratic National Committee Woman and Man. In the DC Democratic Party Primary on Tuesday, June 19, registered Democratic voters can vote for ONE woman and ONE man to be elected to the Democratic National Committee. EARLY VOTING opens on June 4.
The women candidates are: Marie C. Johns, Nikki Lewis, and Sylvia Martinez; the men candidates are: Marcus Batchelor and Jack Evans.
The Democratic National Committee, the governing body of the Democratic Party, creates and secures the mechanisms for electing Democrats up and down the ballot from the school boards to the US Congress, and from the state houses to the White House; educates US residents about the Democratic Party; recruits Democratic Party members; and turns Democrats out in great numbers to vote. Generally, DNC members make up approximately one-fifth of delegates to the Democratic National Presidential Nominating Conventions.
